HOW IT STARTED
The Discovery Game started in Thailand during an outreach where a group of university students heard the teachings of Jesus for the very first time.
When we looked at how Jesus engaged crowds, He spoke in parables. Listeners were then responsible for working out the proper interpretations for themselves, and applying the teachings of Jesus to their lives in their households and communities.
In a modern missions context, where religious teachings are not welcome, stories can still be engaging and fun. The DiscoveryGAME brings that sense of engagement and community into evangelism that is needed on the mission field today.
The model of discipleship Jesus left us is not about control. It's about giving away what you've been given. As good as it is to bring people through a 10-step discipleship program, Jesus demonstrated how the simple story at the right time is often what sows the seed of repentance and faith into someone's life.
